How does messaging work?

When you send a message to someone via Primary Care Exchange, it is added to our internal messaging system as well as sent as an email. The internal chat acts like an instant messaging client; you can view all responses and reply instantly.

Alternatively, if you’re following the email chain, you can simply reply to any system email and this will automatically be added to the system chat, as well as being sent as an email reply to your intended recipient.

One of the advantages of our messaging system is we keep email addresses private - all messages will come to your mail box from unique addresses. So don't worry if you don't recognise the incoming email address - by replying directly to the email (or logging in and replying through the web site), our system ensures the message is sent to the right person.
